A fourth Vice-Chancellor has signed up for the CMM-Twig Marketing Remaking HE online conference, with QUT VC Professor Margaret Shiel agreeing to appear with Uni SA VC Professor David Lloyd and La Trobe VP of Strategy and Development Natalie MacDonald to comb through the higher ed sector’s toughest workplace challenges.

In a hectic hour of Q and A, the 11 November session will examine the challenges of carving out career opportunities for young academics, new approaches to casual employment, the under-representation of Indigenous staff in universities (just one per cent of total staffing) and promotional challenges for women, in a wide-ranging conversation.

After thousands of job losses have re-shaped the academic workforce in 2020, the session offers the opportunity to ask how it can build back better in 2021 and beyond.
